Greetings from the 2005 Chairman – Jeff Montgomery

Huge strides have been made in the four years since the formation of the Saskatoon Blues Society. We’ve presented shows like Honey Boy Edwards and Big Bill Morganfield. We’ve created opportunities for blues education with Blues in Schools. This and running a festival takes a lot of time and effort from our volunteers. What we have is a desire to support blues music. We’d love to have you join in.

This year the Committee wanted to raise the profile of the Festival to let everyone know that it’s a happening thing. The generosity of our sponsors to help us accomplish this has been great. Thanks to each and especially to Scott at Cherry Insurance.

We have a great lineup of Juno and Maple Blues award winners, talent from coast to coast, and a feature night for our local blues players. Come on out and dig it.

Festival week this year includes a week long tour by Fruteland Jackson as he brings the CAMECO Blues In Schools program to middle and high school students in Saskatoon, Regina and Swift Current.

Thank you to the Committee and especially to Gord MacAulay who has made a huge contribution to the success of the Festival. We should be calling this year “Gordfest”. The continual assistance of B.C. Read and Bob Reid is also greatly appreciated.

Enjoy Saskatoon Blues Festival 2005. It’s built for comfort.

The whole weekend is yours for just $70.00 ( less than a ticket to a show at the Credit Union Centre or a play at the Auditorium). There will be a small limited number of full passes available. We will also make available a limited number of Acoustic only packages that includes the Blues Sampler Thursday night for $40.00. Packages only available here or an executive member. Individual event tickets go on sale Thursday Feb 10th at
